Post 19 Commander, Chip and Auxiliary Chaplain, Danielle attended the POW/MIA recognition ceremony at the Dr. Phillips center in downtown Orlando. They got to meet our District State Legislator, Anna Eskamani and listen to the Mayor and keynote speaker Shoshana Johnson speak about her experience as a POW.
During the past two years of the Covid-19 pandemic it has become apparent that one of the most effective methods of reducing community spread is through testing. We have seen the uptick of cases as new variants emerge and witnessed the difficulty to access testing sites or locate at-home tests. Today, I was pleased to bring a small number of both N-95 masks and at-home rapid covid tests to the American Legion Wilson Ritch Post 432 in Port Jefferson Station. The Post will distribute them to their local members. While we only had a small number of the at-home rapid tests available, I am glad to have been able to supply one of our local community Veteran organizations with access to these important items.
